Dear Coral List,

I am very sorry to tell you that Smithsonian Institution Scholarly Press (SISP) has decided to stop publishing the Atoll Research Bulletin. I was not able to make an announcement until now. I had several times expressed hope that the ARB could transition to another institution with an interest in promoting and potentially expanding it, but in the end SISP just decided to end it. See below for their statement in quotes.

I have been maintaining this series since 2013, and this is a greater loss to me than you can imagine. I have enjoyed your contributions and working with you to see them to publication and will miss this very much. If there is any way I can be of assistance in getting your work edited, please let me know.

Sincerely,
Maggie Toscano

"On May 2, 2024, Smithsonian Scholarly Press (SISP) discontinued publication of Atoll Research Bulletin and no longer takes new submissions for consideration in the series. SISP is an internal program with the mission of publishing Smithsonian research results, thus it must focus its limited resources on series that are utilized by Smithsonian researchers. The full Smithsonian collection of ARB volumes is available on SISP's online portal (https://smithsonian.figshare.com/arb) and Smithsonian's institutional repository (https://repository.si.edu/handle/10088/4781)."
