This is a request to the Coral-List community to support the protection of a re-discovered coral reef in South Beach, Miami, Florida.
Below is a short description from the Change.org petition, and the link to add your signature to the protection request.
"A lost reef has been re-discovered right of South Beach. It was nearly destroyed in the 1950s (dredged as fill for "beach re-nourishing"). Now, 70 years later, we found that it has come back to life.
We have documented many Endangered Species, including hard corals, conchs, and even Manatees. It is populated by gorgeous tropical fish, baby nurse sharks, rare corals and eye-popping marine life. "
The site continues describing specific actions to protect the reef.
