[Coral-List] what would your ideal 'cutting edge' monitoring program include?

Hi all,

We have all seen many monitoring program observables; some simple that
facilitate continuity and some complex to understand more difficult
dynamics. If you could develop a long-term monitoring program where funding
was not a constraint and you attempt to account for areas of research that
will become increasingly important or valuable, what would you
sample/measure and why? For example, reef soundscapes convey a lot of
information and are becoming easier to sample, but are not currently part
of most long-term monitoring. I'm sure many of you work on topics that
appear to be important considerations for understanding reef dynamics, but
that are not currently monitored because of infeasibility or poor
knowledge. These are the topics I'm interested in!

Please email me your thoughts directly and I'll aggregate everyone's input
and post it back to this list.

Thank you!
Shanee
