Coral Listers,
This announcement is outside the core of what is normally covered on the
Coral List, but I think it is still a potential opportunity many would
be interested in. The Hydrographic Services Review Panel is soliciting
applications for membership. NOAA is interested in broad geographic
representation on this FACA committee, and such committees have been
historically under-represented by individuals from coral reef locations,
in particular the U.S. territories. The period for submission has been
extended until July 24, 2009.
*****
NOAA is seeking applications for members to serve on the Hydrographic
Services Review Panel, a Federal advisory committee which provides
advice to NOAA on topics including hydrographic surveying, nautical
charting, water level and current measurements, and geodetic and
geospatial measurements.
Consider submitting an application if you have expertise in areas such
as geodetic, geospatial, tides, or current measurements; hydrographic
surveying; vessel pilotage; port administration; marine transportation;
or coastal and fishery management.
Please note that 1) officers or employees of the United States are not
eligible to apply for membership, and 2) part of the appointment process
includes completing a financial disclosure form.

Panel webpage: http://www.nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/ocs/hsrp/hsrp.htm
You can also read the attached Federal Register notice for more
information.
