Wanted:
Montego Bay Marine Park Trust: Managing Director
The successful applicant will be responsible for
Managing and coordinating all activities in the
management and funding of the Montego Bay Marine Park,
a Jamaican National Park. Park details at:
www.mbmp.org
Must be tireless, passionate and dedicated to the
Park, the sea and the environment.
An appropriate applicant will:
Have management experience, minimum 4 years.
Minimum post-secondary
(College/Post-Grad/University) education.
Have practical experience/be conversant in marine
and conservation issues and general biology/zoology.
Have strong communication skills, written and spoken
(English). Must be able to communicate to artisanal
fishermen and/or visiting academics equally
comfortably.
Conversant in basic sales and marketing.
Experience in proposal development and production
including budgets.
Experienced SCUBA diver: minimum 100 logged dives or
leadership level certification.
Computer literate.
Drivers License- manual transmission.
Boat handling experience.
Application format:
1) 300 word formal letter outlining applicants
environmental/conservation and marine experience and
how the Montego Bay Marine Park will benefit with your
employment.
2) C/V of no more then 3 pages, 12 pt font text, 16 pt
font headings in bold. Include contact E-mail and
telephone for last 5 years employers.
3) 5 professional and/or academic references with
contact details.
Remuneration will be according to experience and
ability to generate revenue. Starting: $16,000USD/yr
in Jamaican Dollar equivalent.
