Coral Reef question: size doesn't matter.

Dear all,
In Eastern Oman, a reef at Bar al-Hikman is some 15km long and consisted
almost exclusively of a single species of Montipora. No genetic work has
been done there, however, it is not impossible that, because of the tendency
of Montipora to fragment easily, a significant portion of that reef shares
the same genetic makeup, hence possibly a very large and very old colony!
