Coral Reefs and Mangroves on the Web by WCMC
World Conservation
Monitoring Centre
Please have a look at the brand new Coral Reefs and Mangroves web site
at the following address:
http://www.wcmc.org.uk/marine/data/coral_mangrove/
The web site includes a world map showing the distribution of coral
reefs and mangroves. Linked to this are maps showing both coral reefs
and mangroves for a number of countries, generated from the global
reef database. The site also includes educational texts and
photographs.
The web site is based on the successful poster map entitled "Coral
Reefs and Mangroves of the World" by WCMC. The poster map compliments
the recently published "Mangrove Atlas of the World" (available from
the International Society for Mangrove Ecosystems, College of
Agriculture, University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa 903-01 Japan).
Both the poster and the web site are contributions to International
Year of the Reef.
